i come in peace.

Have you ever noticed that when you look at flowers up close they look like something from another planet?

I was outside searching for something interesting for macro monday this morning and it dawned on me how "alien" flowers look. Hmmm.

ever after.

(from the wedding I photographed this past weekend)

Everything went great- which is saying a LOT for a wedding, usually SOMETHING goes wrong at some point! But this one was very smooth. Everything went just as planned. How often can you say THAT, about ANYTHING in life?

I'm going to be out of town for the weekend, but I will be back on Monday with some golf shots! (hopefully)

itty bitty.

I had forgotten about these... over 4th of July weekend we found a baby praying mantis. Devin was fascinated by it, picking it up and examining it. I didn't mind photographing the little guy, but there was NO WAY I was touching it! *shudder*

in honor of

Devin's and his team's great season:

They played in the championship game last night... our team lost but we are still SO proud of them all. They got trophies and their coach is planning a pizza party sometime soon. I admit I am glad for the season to be OVER... it is WAY too hot now to be sitting at the ball diamonds for hours watching them play- and the poor kids must have been dying out there the last few weeks! Today was also the last day of golf camp for the boys, they played in a little scrimmage type thing and everyone came home with t-shirts and divot replacers. So we get the rest of the summer OFF! YAY!

waldermeldon.

Nothing cools you off on a hot summer day than watermelon! (or, waldermeldon, as the kids were calling it)

So how was everyone's weekend? Mine was CRAZY busy! I'm glad to have a whole day tomorrow that I don't have to be anywhere or do anything! Whew! :)

mishmash.

Today's post is a sort of mishmash of stuff... which fits because I am such a random person anyway!

Devin's team WON THEIR GAME last night! It was AMAZING, finally these little guys all pulled together and played like a TEAM and they were awesome. It was one of those edge-of-your-seat games, where every single play, every single pitch, every single out mattered. I tell ya, I can't take many more games like this one! LOL! They play in the championship game on Monday night, I will be freaking OUT!

I snapped this one of D before his game the other night:

Jason took these the other day when we were at a friend's house for a bbq.
Beer and fire... 'nuff said. ;)

And here are a few (ok, a LOT) from my garden yesterday. I took these after the rain stopped- yes, these are REAL raindrops, not from my spray bottle this time, lol!

And just call me the "fly whisperer"... I swear these yucky guys will stay SO still for me, even when I am less than an inch away from them! My lens must be hypnotizing... if only it worked that way on my kids! :p

I have a wedding to do this weekend, so I may not be posting anything for a few days- so don't be worried if I "disappear"! I promise to be back (with pics) as soon as possible!

Have a great weekend everyone!

wii are silly.

It's icky outside, sprinkling rain and VERY muggy so Kaitlyn and I are chillin' indoors today. The boys (all 3 of them) are golfing right now, so us "gills" are left to our own devices to entertain ourselves. That can be dangerous!

Since I have nothing interesting going on, I thought I'd just post a few silly photos I've taken of princess K. The sad part is, this kind of thing is "normal" for us around here. LOL!

Last night, Devin taught Kaitlyn how to play the wii (isn't he a great big bro?):

And D's baseball team played game 1 of their tournament last night- they WON! I really wish I'd taken my camera with me. They brought Devin in to pitch (closer) and he did awesome. He even caught the game winning out! :) But it looked like it would storm at any moment and the ball fields are far away from the parking lot, so I didn't want to chance getting the camera wet. At least I have the memories in my head...

They play game 2 tonight, weather permitting.

So what are you all doing today to entertain yourselves? I'm running out of ideas and I am tired of reading One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.... over... and over... and over...
