ice, ice baby...
Went to visit my parents and sisters this weekend, which is always fun! At my parents' house, the ponds were frozen over thick enough to walk on, so the boys had tons of fun slipping and sliding around on the ice. I remained safely on the shore, thank you very much! Being a country girl you'd think I would be right out there with them, but nope! Not me! The ice was making weird popping, echoing noises and me and my precious camera were staying right where we were! I was perfectly content to stay to the side and take pictures this time! (ok... ok... I was a scaredy cat! So what?!)
The boys had a BLAST! Doing "powerslides" (you know, that move rockstars do when they go running and slide across the stage on their knees?), "Babe Ruth slides" (running then sliding on their bellies), and just skating around in general trying not to fall!
They really liked trying to "race" across the ice.
Which 99% of the time resulted in a scene something like this:
(Don't worry, he was fine- he lay there laughing for a few seconds before getting up).
Kaitlyn, on the other hand, is definitely MY daughter when it comes to this stuff!
(I know honey... mommy feels the same way!)
My baby sister and her daughter were having fun walking around:
and I even got a shot of my other little sister (ain't she purty?):
Then of course Devin sensed that I was paying attention to someone besides him (GASP) and needed to pose for me for a moment:
We had a lot of fun visiting... this was just the medicine I needed to lift my spirits up again... but we were sad as always that we didn't have more time to spend there. The weekends go by way too fast!
I hope everyone else had a nice weekend!
