it's official...
I am officially the mom to three kids who will probably never get out of the pool ALL. SUMMER. LONG. I've created a monster in Kaitlyn (loch ness maybe?). From the time she wakes up in the morning till the sun is gone from the sky, every other sentence from her mouth is "can I go in the pool momma?" I can't complain though... seeing as how I LOVE LOVE LOVE summertime and being outside all day long is way more tolerable when I can dip in the pool every so often to cool down! Now if I could only do something about Kaitlyn's redheaded, fair-skinned, easily burned complexion.... I should buy stock in Water Babies sunblock! (for some reason Devin "grew out of" the fair skinned-ness and now he gets nice and golden-tan- and covered in freckles which I think is ADORABLE!)
OK, are you ready for this? Major pool photo overload comin' at cha! Hey, her first year of NOT being terrified of the water only comes once, right? ;)
She was singing, "I love my pool, my pool is the awesomest, my pool is the funnest, my pool is the sparkliest and cleanest..." (to the tune of nanna nanna boo boo- you know that thing we used to sing as kids to torment someone when we had something they wanted? Yep.)
She sure does love that water!
She ran around and around...
..and squealed at the top of her lungs in a pitch I am certain only dogs can hear...
...and floated in her hippo floaty ring...
...and tormented Devin (love how he's like "What?" when I scolded him for splashing water in her face)
He even taught her to spit water (oh joy of joys)
Look at his poor finger... he smashed it almost 2 months ago in the bathroom door (we have one of those pocket doors that slides into the wall on our bathroom). We are just waiting for the fingernail to fall off. Ick.
So this is how we spent our day today (Austin was around somewhere, but wanted NO PART of being photographed with his shirt off. Tweenagers. *snort*). I can see many, MANY days to come over the next few months of sitting poolside and listening to them giggle... it is sure making this year's summer vacation a LOT more fun than last year's! ;)
