water bug.

Whew, what a busy busy week I've had! Not only busy with work, but busy with family & stuff. This past weekend was our 12th wedding anniversary (whoohoo!) so we celebrated by having a weekend ALONE for the first time in YEARS. It was AWESOME. :) Devin's been busy with baseball games, both boys have been going to golf camp, and Kaitlyn got an early b-day gift from her mamaw- a swimming pool!

She was very hesitant at first about the whole pool idea. She is kind of weird about stuff and she is very afraid of lots of things (water included). The pool has been set up since Friday but today was the first day she has actually gone IN the pool. I took pics the first day of her ALMOST getting in...





..and today she actually got ALL THE WAY in the pool! I was so proud. OK, so maybe I had to force her into the water. And maybe she had to hold onto my neck for a good half hour with a vise grip that almost choked the life out of me. But evenutally, eventually, she loosened her grip and realized she can TOUCH THE BOTTOM and that the water is NOT over her head, and she was off like a little fish! She zipped around that pool like a water bug and we played for HOURS, just the two of us, while the boys were all golfing. I was so proud! Of course I don't have pics from today's actual SWIMMING, since I was IN the pool with her... isn't that the way it always goes? LOL
