crazy, lazy day(zy)

It's been another lazy kind of day. It is SO cold outside and I am still all stopped up so I didn't want to make it worse by going in and out, in and out again. Sigh. At least no one else is sick right now! This winter has been SO weird and crazy. I'm pretty sure the erratic weather has a LOT to do with how often we've been getting sick. It's ridiculous, it seems like we go for a week or so and everyone is well, then BAM- sick again!

Yesterday was sort of eventful. I won't even mention the 2peas drama though. But in my world it was just a strange day anyway! Yesterday morning, Jason's car broke down on the way to take Austin to school. Literally, they were on the highway in the turning lane to turn down the road to the middle school and the car broke down. Would NOT start! I feel just awful because I had gone back to bed (not feeling well!) and J tried & tried to call me and my stinkin' phone was in the other room charging! So I didn't hear it ring! Finally a police officer stopped to help him and they called a tow truck. Austin got a ride to school in a police car, talk about a good story for him to tell his friends! The tow truck guy gave Jason a ride back to work (it was on his way anyway) and towed the truck in. Turns out the ignition switch was bad! They replaced it but now we're out more $$$ for the tow and the repair.

Then last night the boys were complaining about there being no hot water when it was time to take their showers. I assumed it was because I had just run the dishwasher so I just told them to wait a while and try again. They did, and STILL no hot water! Finally I went into the basement to investigate and found the boiler room all puddled with water!!! (yes, we have a boiler room in the basement... but I promise it's not creepy in a Freddy Krueger way, lol!) So the water heater was broken! I called the landlord and he is in Florida at a conference!!! He was able to get ahold of one of his guys to come look at it this morning and they had to just replace the water heater, there was no fixing it. Drama, drama! But golly I am glad to have hot water again, I couldn't imagine going even one more day without a shower, yuck! I now have more sympathy for people in third world countries who have no water, how awful that must be. Or I am just spoiled, lol.

ANYWAY... enough of my mindless rambling! I didn't even take any pics today, I was so worried about getting hot water again! I did find a couple of ice pics I didn't post the other day so I hope you all don't mind seeing them!

This poor, poor little bird's nest! Thank goodness the occupants are long gone for the winter!

And just a pretty colored set of leaves I found, I thought they looked like jewels under the ice:

And just for fun, one I got the other day of Kaitlyn playing with her babies (she was "feeding" him a plastic bracelet, for some odd reason, and since WHEN do we put our babies on the stove?! lol!)

The first two pics were taken with my 24-70 and I believe the last one I used my 50mm, if anyone is interested in that!

TFL, and I hope everyone else's day was less dramatic! :c)
