double digits!

Ten years ago today, at precisely 7:17 pm, my precious new baby son took his first breath on this earth. He weighed exactly 8 pounds and was 21 inches long. And BOY was he RED! He had a head full of BLACK hair and an awesome set of lungs on him. I guess those first moments were an indication of things to come, because there has barely been a quiet moment in this house since!

I can't even believe that my BABY boy is ten years old today. It doesn't seem possible. He has been such an easy child in some ways, yet such a difficult child in others. I tried to dig around for a baby picture of him to post, this is the best I could do since my scanner is on the blink:

This is Devin at about 1 week old (already WIDE awake all the time!)


Here he is at about 3 mos old (look at that adorable CHUB!) with Austin, who he adores:


Here he is at age 3, his first trip to the zoo (with Austin again- it seems that when they were both little I have very few photos of them separate)- he's making that face because he was VERY impressed with that Bengal Tiger in the fence behind him:
