the man in black

Well, I didn't get to take Devin down town with his guitar today- it was just too rainy and dreary to even try. It may just have to wait until spring when it warms back up again.

I did, however, take a few shots of him playing it in his bedroom. He is so cute with this thing- he practices every day even though he doesn't have a clue what he's doing. He has managed to pluck out part of "Smoke on the Water" on his own, so that's something! I'm planning on checking into guitar lessons for him, he really does seem serious about learning. We bought him a book and a CD for Christmas too, but I'm not sure he knows where to start. And I have no clue either- I was a band geek but I played sax and clarinet- no strings for me!

Here was my favorite shot, and I can't decide if I like it better in color or b&w (though I think I'm favoring the color just because of his red wall!).

I used my 28-105mm lens, f/3.5-4.5 and iso 400. Can't remember the shutter speeds. I also used my external flash again (had to, it's SO dark inside right now!).

I also wanted to thank everyone for all the great comments! I read them all and I really do appreciate every single one! :c)

**edited to add one more b&w conversion-- thanks hc for your great suggestion, that helped a lot! I knew there was something "off" about it I just couldn't put my finger on it!
