happy easter!
I hope everyone is having a fantastic day! We didn't go to church today (I know, shame on us!) but in our defense we just haven't found one that we really LOVE yet. I guess we are spoiled from our old church home, the church I grew up in. No other church feels like HOME like that one does. I did read the crucifixion and resurrection story to the kids (well, mainly to Kaitlyn, the boys know the story and Austin went upstairs after I started reading it and Devin went in to play video games halfway through). Kaitlyn cracks me up... she LOVES to be read to and she especially loves the part about them rolling away the stone and the tomb being empty. It probably helps that I change my voice and make it all sound dramatic (because it WAS!). She kept gasping and saying, "It's a reester miracle!". It was SO funny.
We colored eggs last night... of course my boys who were adamant that they most certainly did NOT want to color eggs this year decided at the last minute that it did look like fun and they wanted in on it. I only boiled one dozen eggs since I was only doing them for Kaitlyn so she had to share (which she was NOT happy about, but she got over it, lol). I took a few shots of them coloring the eggs. I took the cop-out route on the coloring this year and had them just draw on the eggs with washable markers. :p
me: "How big is the Easter Bunny, Kaitlyn?"
Kaitlyn: "THIS GIANTEST BIGGEST!"
And here are the finished works of art:
After she tore through her candy basket this morning (she had a chocolate bunny and 3 pink bunny Peeps for breakfast... bad mommy!) I went outside and hid her eggs. Of course keeping in mind that she is THREE I hid them in plain sight. And I of course took some pictures! (surprise, surprise!) I went a little crazy with the colors here, but she was so colorful today I couldn't help it!
(please excuse my nasty yard... it is in the process of being re-sodded so it looks like crap right now!)
Finally found the LAST egg!
Most of the shots I got were of her backside, lol...
Posing nicely with her basket of eggs before heading inside! (it was COLD out this morning!)
I hope you all are having a wonderful day surrounded by the ones you love! Now I'm off to put the ham in the oven- YUM! :)
