my poor, poor baby.

Devin had a baseball game last night. (his team won- woohoo!) Towards the end of the game, Kaitlyn was climbing UP the slide on the playground (which she KNOWS she's not supposed to do!) and slipped, twisting her wrist up underneath herself, and slid partway back down the slide on her arm. She cried. And cried. And cried. I debated and debated over whether to get it checked out last night, but since it was not obviously deformed looking I went ahead and took her home, gave her some ibuprofen, and got her to sleep. She was still favoring it quite a bit this morning and wasn't wanting to move her fingers at all, so I bit the bullet and took her in.

We ended up in the ER, getting xrays, and spending half the day there (fun fun). Turns out it is NOT broken (thank goodness), but it WAS dislocated and it is sprained. Popping it back into place was NO FUN and I hope I never have to hear that God-awful sound again as long as I live! She was a trooper (except for the relocating of the wrist) and did much better than I thought she was. She ended up with a ton of stickers, a coloring book and crayons, and a lovely half-cast like splint that she has to wear for the next week and a half or so. This should be interesting. :(

And yes, I am the crazy woman who grabs her camera on the way out the door and photographs the event! (taken with the new 40D! woop woop!)

Waiting for the ortho to read the xrays and watching "My Friends Tigger and Pooh" on the tv in her hospital room:
