about that flare...

I got SOOO many comments and emails asking "how'd you do that" about my flare photos from yesterday, I thought I'd post a little note as a reply to you all! :)

Honestly, I didn't do ANYTHING special when I took those! I give ALL the credit for the way the sun flared into that starburst to my 15mm fisheye lens- because seriously I did not do anything special! I took about 5 shots total, all in AV mode, a couple at f/2.8 (which were totally blown out so I trashed them) and these two I believe were at f/22. Iso 100. I literally just aimed at the sky, focused, and shot. I didn't even crop these, I was just anxious to get them posted because I thought it was too too cool! I didn't see the flare through my vewfinder, it just happened! Honest!

So yeah, I WISH there was some cool "secret" to it, because you KNOW I would be blabbing it to everyone! But nope... just the lens is all! I just keep finding more and more things I LOVE about that little thing! :)

But thanks for all the awesome compliments about them! I WISH I could take credit for how they turned out, but I'll leave the credit to the lens, and to God for making such a beautiful sunny blue sky for me yesterday! It's back to icky gray overcast again today, so looking at these photos makes me happy! :)
