two days later

I decided to go ahead and document the healing process for Devin's elbow... I know it's not a major injury by any means but I am fascinated by the body's ability to heal itself! I took this photo yesterday (two days after the fall) and it already looks and feels so much better.

The swelling is almost gone, he can bend his arm again, and the scrape/gouge has scabbed so we don't have to bandage it. Kids just heal SO fast!

Jason had an EGD done yesterday morning (stomach scope) and they found two ulcers and a polyp. Also a lot of inflammation of his stomach lining (gastritis). The removed the polyp (it was no big deal) and are going to treat his ulcers with prescription acid reducers (probably Nexium). They sent biopsies of the ulcers to the lab to determine if his problems are caused by bacteria, if so, they will put him on an antibiotic too. We should have the results by Friday. He's doing fine, a little stomach discomfort today but he's back at work (of course!).

Kaitlyn is doing much better... still coughing quite a bit but she acts like she feels fine. Which reminds me, I need to get more of her cough syrup today, she's almost out!

Austin of course is healthy as a horse. And I'm ok, just a little of that sinus thing hanging around but nothing major to report. :)

I was hoping to get outside and take some pictures of the kids today (especially Austin- he NEVER lets me take his pic!) but it's snowing, so I guess we'll stay in again. That's ok, I need to get some work done here and do some cleaning and laundry!
