extreme.
Well, the concert was a BLAST! They raised a ton of money for Aly and the Make a Wish Foundation! There were several bands who came and played and they all ROCKED OUT. My ears are STILL ringing from being right up against the stage all day long- but OH MAN what a show and what an amazing cause.
I *only* have 1439 photos to weed through, between me and Jason we pretty much had it covered! LOL! I thought I'd start off with a few fun ones of the boys before I delve into the concert photos...
The Army National Guard came out and they brought several activities for the kids, which was AWESOME. The boys' fave was the rock wall, they spent a good part of the day climbing that thing- if you made it all the way to the top and rang the bell you got a super cool Army t-shirt. Austin ALMOST made it several times, but he wasn't wearing his tennis shoes so he climbed barefoot which made it pretty difficult. Then he cut his toe and that pretty much shot his chances of making it all the way up. Luckily Devin was in a giving mood and asked the guy if he could climb it one more time to win his bro a shirt. Awwww... savor these sweet moments, they are few and far between anymore!
Here is Austin getting his harness put on and hearing a few tips on climbing the wall (really surprised A wanted to climb it at all, he is deathly afraid of heights. Guess the thought of winning a cool shirt outweighed his fear- this time.):
And proof he ALMOST made it! He could have done a little lunge and probably rang the bell at this point, but he slipped off. Darn it!
(notice Jason getting his shot too)
Devin was a natural. I am even more convinced the boy is part monkey!
He climbed all 3 sides (they varied in difficulty)
And you know D, always stopping to pose for pics!
Here is a wide shot of the entire tower. I'd guess it was around 30 feet tall. (NO, I did NOT try to climb it- that would have been a disaster, lol!)
They had a really great turnout too. I was thrilled that Aly felt up to coming and I got to meet her. She is the sweetest thing. It made me sad that she is only a year older than Austin... I am praying extra hard for a cure!
