Baseball!
Yup, it's that time of year again. Time to spend every weeknight at one ball diamond or the other! I may complain alot (because, well, I'm a complainer, lol!) but deep down I actually enjoy this time of year. It seems that baseball season is the one time of year that we all seem to get along the best- the boys are so busy with practices and games they barely have time to fight! Ah... it's nice.
I almost made a post about the recent photo-stealing stuff, but what's the point. MY photos weren't stolen (that I'm aware of), but the paranoid in me made me up my online security that much more. It's been almost a year since I had photos of my kids stolen by a so-called online friend... and she passed them off as her own kids on another forum. It is SO violating. I had JUST started feeling comfortable again about posting pics online and then this happened. I guess every once in a while we need a wake-up call, huh? The online world is definitely not safe! I think it's best for my kids' sakes and for the sakes of my clients, past and future, that I make this blog private. Better safe than sorry.
Anyway, back on subject! I am SO proud of my boys right now! (I am proud of them all the time, but you know what I mean!) They have both been playing SO well. Austin plays first base, which is PERFECT for him since he's a lefty. Devin's been playing left field, and a bit of third base and shortstop. Next game coach told him he can try pitching if he wants. He's pretty psyched about that!
Some of you have probably seen these pics, but I thought I might post some of my fave "action shots" from some of their recent games. I got a "new" lens (a Canon 70-210 f/4) - actually I bought it off a friend for next to nothing- and it's been a learning curve! I've never had a lens this long before. It really takes some skill to keep it steady enough to get clear shots. But practice makes perfect! (Or in my case, practice makes "good enough", LOL)
These are Devin:
Here he tweaked his knee when he slid into home (he was ok though, tough kid!)
These next ones are Austin- his field is harder to get decent photos at, the fence is higher so I have to try and shoot THROUGH the fence- tough with a lens with a hood on it!
Getting those outs at first!
Here are the individual "posed" baseball pics I took of the boys- I am SO sick of the same old pose year after year. I like mine better!
WOW- I just realized how long this post got! Sorry 'bout that! (ok, you got me- I'm not really sorry! ROFL!)
Man, I'd better go to bed before I get REALLY silly!
